Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language policy for an independent hobby/commercial project. It is not legal advice; if you operate a similar site, have a lawyer review your own policy.

ScoutIndex (“we”, “us”) operates scoutindex.net, a free NFL statistics website. This policy explains what data we handle and your choices. Contact: herrickhoffmannordonez@gmail.com.

What we collect

No accounts. The site has no login, and we do not ask you for personal information.

• Server logs. Our host records standard request data — IP address, date/time, page requested, referrer, and user-agent — to operate and secure the site. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build profiles.
• Local storage. A single key on your device remembers your cookie choice. This never leaves your browser.
• Advertising & analytics. We currently run neither. If we add them, third-party partners (most likely Google) would set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. That only happens if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner.

Cookies

Today the site sets only essential storage (your consent choice, a remembered filter/tab). If advertising is enabled later and you accept, Google and its partners may use cookies as described in Google's partner-sites policy. You can change your mind any time — see “Your choices” below.

Third parties

• Hosting: Hostinger (server and DNS).
• Fonts: self-hosted; no request goes to Google Fonts.
• Data source: public NFL statistics from nflverse. This is data about players and teams, not about site visitors.
• Advertising (future, opt-in): Google AdSense / an ad-management partner.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Server logs: our legitimate interest in running a secure service. Advertising/analytics cookies: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Your choices

• Cookie consent: use the banner, or clear this site's storage in your browser to be asked again.
• Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we do not serve personalized advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today; when ads launch we will honor opt-out signals where required.
• Access / deletion (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA): because we hold no account data, there is normally nothing to export or delete. For log-related requests, email us.

Children

The site is a general-audience sports reference and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security & retention

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep operational logs only as long as needed for security and debugging, then they are rotated out.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will update the effective date above and, if significant, be noted on the site.
